A burst of new meteors could emerge during a tau Herculid meteor shower on May 30-31, but that’s not a sure thing.

NASA astronomer Bill Cooke called the potential milestone an “all-or-nothing event” in an agency blog post earlier in May, as astronomers follow the debris from broken comet 73P/Schwassmann-Wachmann 3 (also called SW 3).
