Season 7: Upcoming Custom Training Changes
Written by admin_3fxxacau

We’re just days away from the start of Rocket League glamour Season 7. Before we all strike a pose in the golden variant of Utopia Coliseum, we want to share a few details about the changes coming to Custom Training on June 14 alongside the game update.

We’ve read a ton of your feedback regarding Custom Training, and with this week’s update, we finally got the chance to make some much-requested quality-of-life tweaks to the system. Read on for a preview of what’s to come!

Training Pack Progress

With Season 7, we’re changing the way you can navigate and progress through Training Packs:

Choose your path: Progress on packs no longer requires you to complete shots in a specific order. You will be able to jump from one plan to another and complete a pack as you see fit. Is this third shot a problem for you? Go to the fourth move and come back later. (We’ll explain more about that below.)

What savings! We’re adding workout pack progress to save data, so you can work on as many plans and as many packs as you want. Progress, take a break and come back later without having to start packs from scratch.

Reset button: Completed a pack you want to revisit? No problem. Press Pause and you will be able to reset the progress of any training pack you have started or completed.

Plan navigation and mirroring

We’ve taken note of what players want (especially those on PC), so we’re making a bunch of shooting navigation changes in Rocket League. Commands for everything below will appear below the progress bar.

Next and previous plan: You can now move freely between blueprints in a Training Pack – no need to complete them in a specific order.

Select the shot: A single long press will bring up a new drop-down menu that lets you freely choose which shot from the pack you want to practice.

Random moves: Do you want to mix it up? Press the Shuffle Shots button to randomize the shot order.

Plan mirroring: With the press of a button, you can reflect a shot to the opposite side of an arena. Working on weak side strikes and saves has never been easier. Mirroring works on all available Arenas in Custom Training. This may not always be the case when new arenas are introduced in the future, depending on their shape, size, and other factors.

Menu and interface changes

Along with all the new features, we’ve made some adjustments to the menus and interfaces related to custom training:

The story repeats itself: In the Custom Training menu, a new “History” tab has been added next to the “Created” tab. The History tab feature has been enabled in the background for a while now, so your recent training pack history should be populated as soon as your game client is updated. You can also add any pack from the History tab to your favorites list.

Pause menu changes: From here, you can reset the progress of a workout pack, and you can also tap “End Workout” to see progress on the pack.

End of training: From here, you can jump back into the pack, change game modes, change training packs, or return to the main menu.

Finally, two really important reminders:

  • With new features, new controls! Want to change inputs for random shots, mirroring and beyond?

    • Load in a Personalized training package

    • Go to Settings -> Controls -> View/Edit Bindings

    • Scroll to bottomand you will see the new entries just below the controls for Knockout

We’re really excited about all the Custom Training changes, and we can’t wait to see you all in-game at the start of Season 7. Let us know what you think of the Custom Training changes at our subredditand in the Official Rocket League Discord Server. Thank you everyone!
