With iOS16, Apple has introduced a curious new feature that’s a bit like Instant Photoshop, as you can use it to extract the subject of any image or photo, paste it into another photo, or use it as a sticker in the photo. Messages app. It’s clever enough that we thought we’d show it off in our latest YouTube video.

Apple calls this feature “Pick up subject from background” and is part of the Visual Look Up suite of features. To use it, all you have to do is long press on any image and then drag it to another app or copy it.

It works in PicturesScreenshot, Quick Look, Safari and even videos, and it’s available on the iPhone, iPad, and Mac. There’s not a lot of practical use for it, but it’s certainly impressive and fun to use. Be sure to watch our video to see it in action.
